What CPM means
CPM is the price per 1,000 views (the M is Roman for a thousand). Brands use it to compare creators of different sizes. If a brand pays $25 CPM and your videos get 40,000 views, the sponsorship is worth $25 × 40 = $1,000.
Followers matter less than views. A brand pays for the people who will actually see the ad, so use your average views on recent posts. For podcasts the count is downloads in the first 30 days, and for newsletters it is subscribers the issue goes to.
Before you send a number
- Quote per deliverable, then list the extras (usage, whitelisting, exclusivity) as separate lines.
- Ask how long the brand wants to use the content, and where.
- Send screenshots of your average views, not your best video.
- A first offer under the low figure usually has room to move.

How much should I charge for a sponsorship?
Multiply your average views by a CPM, the price per 1,000 views. For a YouTube integration, booked deals put the median between $17 and $36 CPM depending on channel size, and niche moves it from about $8 to $80. The calculator does the arithmetic for your platform and niche.
How much should a small creator charge for a brand deal?
Smaller accounts earn more per view but less per post. In Kolect's agreed deals, creators with 10K to 100K followers had a median fee of $300 for a TikTok, $400 for an Instagram post and $500 for a YouTube video. Price from your own average views, then compare with those medians.
Do followers or views matter more?
Views. Brands pay for the people who will see the ad. Follower count is used only to place you in a size tier, because per-view rates fall as accounts grow.
Should I charge extra for usage rights or exclusivity?
Yes. Published guides put usage rights at 20% to 50% of the base fee per month, whitelisting at 20% to 25% per 30 days, and exclusivity at 20% to 100% depending on length.

How each price is built
- YouTube videos. The typical rate starts from ThoughtLeaders' median price per 1,000 views for your subscriber band, taken from 9,002 booked integrations. It is then adjusted for niche by SponsorRadar's niche midpoint relative to the 17-niche average ($27.65), and kept inside SponsorRadar's niche range, which also sets low and high.
- TikTok, Instagram and Shorts. Kolect's median agreed fee per 1,000 average views for your follower tier, adjusted by Kolect's niche figures. Low and high follow the spread of agreed fees in that tier. Shorts use TikTok rates because 1stCollab found the two priced alike. Instagram feed and Stories are scaled from Reels using AWISEE's format ranges (low confidence).
- Podcasts. Libsyn Ads' host-read CPMs, by genre where Libsyn publishes one, cross-checked with Ad Results Media.
- Newsletters. beehiiv and Paved ranges per 1,000 subscribers. Finance, business and technology use beehiiv's B2B range.
- X and Twitch. No dataset of real deals is good enough. X uses follower tiers that HubSpot quotes from Influencer Marketing Hub; Twitch uses StreamScheme's viewer-hour rule of thumb. Both are labeled low confidence.
- Placement and extras. A dedicated YouTube video is 2× to 3× an integration (InfluencerFee). Usage rights and exclusivity follow impact.com; whitelisting follows Influencer Marketing Hub. Short mentions borrow the podcast 30-second to 60-second ratio, which is an analogy and is labeled as one.
- Rounding. Prices are rounded to $5, $10, $50 or $100 depending on size. They are starting points for a negotiation, not quotes.
