How to work out your price
- Use the number of subscribers the issue is sent to. Open rate is your best argument for the top of the range.
- Pick the consumer or B2B range depending on who reads you, not what you write about.
- Price the primary slot first. Secondary and classified slots are a fraction of it.
- Under a few thousand subscribers, a flat fee or a multi-issue package is often easier to sell than CPM math.
What CPM means
CPM is the price per 1,000 views (the M is Roman for a thousand). Brands use it to compare creators of different sizes. If a brand pays $25 CPM and your videos get 40,000 views, the sponsorship is worth $25 × 40 = $1,000.
Followers matter less than views. A brand pays for the people who will actually see the ad, so use your average views on recent posts. For podcasts the count is downloads in the first 30 days, and for newsletters it is subscribers the issue goes to.
Common questions
How much should I charge for a newsletter sponsorship?
Subscribers divided by 1,000, times a CPM. A 10,000-subscriber consumer newsletter at the typical $20 CPM is about $200 for the primary slot; a B2B list the same size at $70 is about $700.
What is a good newsletter CPM?
For a general-interest list, $10 to $30 is normal and $35 is the top of beehiiv's consumer range. For specialized B2B readers, beehiiv puts it at $50 to $100 or more.
How much is a secondary placement worth?
In beehiiv's worked example, a secondary text mention was $600 against $1,500 for the primary slot, about 40%.

How each price is built
- YouTube videos. The typical rate starts from ThoughtLeaders' median price per 1,000 views for your subscriber band, taken from 9,002 booked integrations. It is then adjusted for niche by SponsorRadar's niche midpoint relative to the 17-niche average ($27.65), and kept inside SponsorRadar's niche range, which also sets low and high.
- TikTok, Instagram and Shorts. Kolect's median agreed fee per 1,000 average views for your follower tier, adjusted by Kolect's niche figures. Low and high follow the spread of agreed fees in that tier. Shorts use TikTok rates because 1stCollab found the two priced alike. Instagram feed and Stories are scaled from Reels using AWISEE's format ranges (low confidence).
- Podcasts. Libsyn Ads' host-read CPMs, by genre where Libsyn publishes one, cross-checked with Ad Results Media.
- Newsletters. beehiiv and Paved ranges per 1,000 subscribers. Finance, business and technology use beehiiv's B2B range.
- X and Twitch. No dataset of real deals is good enough. X uses follower tiers that HubSpot quotes from Influencer Marketing Hub; Twitch uses StreamScheme's viewer-hour rule of thumb. Both are labeled low confidence.
- Placement and extras. A dedicated YouTube video is 2× to 3× an integration (InfluencerFee). Usage rights and exclusivity follow impact.com; whitelisting follows Influencer Marketing Hub. Short mentions borrow the podcast 30-second to 60-second ratio, which is an analogy and is labeled as one.
- Rounding. Prices are rounded to $5, $10, $50 or $100 depending on size. They are starting points for a negotiation, not quotes.
